About HXM Blazor Software
Your Blazor Shoppe. Veteran-Owned. Tampa Bay Based.
Meet Harvey Myers
I've been writing code since Microsoft was a startup dreaming of releasing MS-DOS.
My career spans 45 years, evolving from the disciplined world of COBOL mainframes to the cutting-edge versatility of .NET 10 and Blazor.
I joined the U.S. Navy at 19, serving in the West Pacific. After returning, I used the GI Bill to complete my education, start a family, and enter the technology field. That military background established the operational discipline I bring to every project today.
"My first programming instructor hired me right out of his COBOL class because he saw how the logic clicked for me. I finished the coursework three weeks early, and my first two raises doubled my salary."
In the Old West, you hired a gunslinger. These days, you need a code-slinger.
The Journey
Building the Foundation
My approach to software was forged in the "Big Iron" era—refrigerator-sized computers with big cabinets of tape and disc drives. Early in my career, I worked on the R&D and Standards Team at Collier-Jackson, where I didn't just write features—I wrote the core logic and architectural standards used by dozens of other developers on HP3000 and DEC/VAX systems.
That experience taught me how to build software that scales, maintains quality under pressure, and stands the test of time.
Independent Consulting
For 25 years, I operated as an independent consultant, building custom software across diverse industries: accounting (GL/AP/AR/PO/FA), payroll and HR, newspapers, vending, warehousing, stock market trading, pharmaceutical returns, media distribution, sales, and CRM.
During this time, I managed a chronic pain condition that tested my resolve but never dampened my passion for logic and problem-solving. To balance the demands of tech, I leaned into my life as a musician—a pursuit of harmony and precision that I continue today.
The Blazor Evolution
In 2022, a health turning point allowed me to return to the corporate world at a high level. I took on a specialized role that immersed me in the "hard stuff" of Blazor and modern .NET architecture—solving complex, enterprise-grade problems in a high-speed manufacturing environment.
After 4 years of intensive Blazor development, I founded HXM Blazor Software to bring that unique blend of veteran experience and modern mastery to small businesses and organizations stuck on legacy systems.
